Interweaving Disciplines: Connecting Collections and Communities Through Sound & Audiovisual Archives
Valencia, Spain, 23-26 September 2024
The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) and L’Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC) invite you to participate in the 55th annual IASA conference from 23-26 September 2024 at the La Nau Cultural Center of the University of Valencia.
Our goal in this conference is to spotlight instances of cross-disciplinary interactions and collaborations. In the spirit of fostering a culture of creativity, scientific innovation, and partnership, especially during times of crisis.
We welcome contributions that dive into three key concepts:
- Who’s the archive for?
- Sound audiovisual collections in (times of) crisis.
- Permanent objects in ever-changing contexts: adapting to advancing technology.
Please see the call for submissions page for more info about sending in your contributions. The call for contributions is available both in English and Spanish.
The event will be hybrid, combining in-person and providing online components. The distinguished University of Valencia will serve as the venue, with a primary emphasis on in-person participation.
IASA's Valencia conference venue is the celebrated La Nau Cultural Centre, a treasured historical building affiliated with the University of Valencia. Its construction dates to the late 15th century, and it served as a location for classes until the mid-20th century.
The deadline for submissions is 1st April 2024
We look forward to your submissions!
