Disaster Recovery Documents and Resources for Audiovisual Materials

This list was compiled for FIAF and the CCAAA by Lydia Creech, IU Libraries Moving Image Archive, in October 2017.

Immediate initial response steps after a disaster for film, tapes, and discs.

Disaster Planning and Recovery

Chapter dedicated to outlining the primary components of a disaster plan, the composition and roles of the disaster action team (DAT) and finally to offer some suggestions for dealing with mould and insect infestation which can occur in the aftermath of a disaster.

Disaster Handbook

Covers prevention, water damage, fire damage, storage vault destruction, long term issues, and has a list of questions to assist with developing a disaster plan.
